Free Music for Commercial Use Great for monetized YouTube Videos

Why?

Lately I've been looking for a good place for free music to use commercially on my YouTube
Channel. If you want to make money off of videos with music in them, you need a commercial license for the music. Normally you have to pay a lot of money for these licenses. I found a free site where it's easy to find music with free commercial licenses.

Where?

The site is called soundcloud. It has a huge selection of music. Check it out here!

How?

The way to find the free commercially licensed music is simple. First, find the column with search at the top. Second, click sound (it's under everything) Third, go down to filter results. Go to the third item and click "to use commercially" Fourth, search for what you want using the big search bar.

Conclusion

I hope this helps! If you have a better site please share it in the comments. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments, or on twitter @creativevideo12

A How to to Using a Shot List

Why?

Using a shot list becomes easy over time, and it makes your production day(s) much easier and simpler. I use a shot lists instead of story boards, but you can chose to do both, just a story board, or just a shot list. To use a shot list you must have two things. First, you need a shot list template. Second you need to know how to write. I'm pretty sure you can all manage this.

How to use a Basic shot list

The information you need to add to your shot list varies. The key things you want to add to your basic shot list are the shot numbers, shot type/ angle (e.g wide portrait, close portrait....etc), and action. You could use the image next to this paragraph for a basic shot list.

How to use a more inclusive shot list

If you want a more inclusive shot list use this one. For the more inclusive shot list you'll want. Your scene #, shot #, whether it's interior or exterior, shot type, location of the shot, description of the shot, and then any additional comments.

Tips

The shot list right here is the one that I use. However, I don't always fill in all of the blanks.

It's a good idea to have a folder to put your shot lists into. It's nice to have some sort of divider in between your different videos, and then also have each videos shot lists in order of the days of shooting. Remember that when your writing your shot list you want to put the shots in the order you'll shoot, not the order that you'll see in the final edit.

Conclusion

I hope this helps! If you have a better shot list, or any other tips please leave them in the comment section or ask me on twitter @creativevideo12.

Looking for Royalty Free Music for you Videos?

Great Site

The site is called beatpick. It has a ton of different songs. You can narrow down your results, and get a list of songs that will fit to your video perfectly.

Tricks

Now to downloads the songs for free there is a trick. First you have to find the song you want. Then add it to your beatlist.

After you have all of the songs your going to want, click the "license" icon in your beatlist. Once you've gotten to the licensing page click on "try before you license." Now fill out the form. You only have to give a real email. The rest of the information is irrelevant.

Other Way

The other way to get free music is to click on "Show only songs for free non commercial use" It's above the songs titles to the right. Then when you have all the songs you want click license. Once your to the licensing page click on "non commercial projects" Do what it asks, and there are your songs.

Conclusion

I hope this site helps you as much as it's helped me. If you have a better site to get music from please share.

Do you Want to use a Blog to Advertise your YouTube Channel?

Hey everybody,

Getting a Blog

So you want to know how to use your blog to advertise your YouTube Channel. Well here it is. First your going to need to make a blog. Some great free sites are,

Blogger

Tumblr

SquareSpace

Content

After you've gotten your blog setup you can start writing. When people are looking for a blog to read they are trying to find interesting content.

Title

Once you have a blog with good content you might still not be getting very many clicks. The reason for  this is because people will only click on the blog if the title looks interesting. A great way to get clicks is by asking a question in the title. People want to know things, it's in our nature. So when titling your blog try and exploit that.

Promoting your YouTube Channel

Now just having people view your blog isn't going to advertise your channel. You need to embed your videos into your blog post. Try and get people interested in your video while they're reading your blog so they click on it next.

Conclusion

So in conclusion we see that to advertise a YouTube channel with a blog you need, a good title to get people to click, then you need good content that gets people interested in your videos. If you do these things you'll be sure to start building a large YouTube channel.

If you want to read about a way to share your videos to thousands of interested people read this post.

The Trick to being Successful at Marketing

To be successful at marketing there is one key component. That key component is your story. To be successful at marketing you need a "great story."

There are nine parts to a great story. Here they are.

1. A great story is true

Not factual, but consistent and authentic.

2. A great story makes a promise

You'll receive money, fun, safety, shortcuts. The promise is bold and it's exceptional.

3. A great story is trusted

No marketer can be truly successful, unless they have credibility.

4. A great story is subtle

Let the audience draw the conclusion.

5. A great story is fast

It should engage the consumer right away. The first impression is more powerful than you would imagine.

6. A great story is NOT aimed at everyone

If you need to water down your story to fit everyone. It will not succeed.

7. A great story does NOT appeal to logic, but to our senses

People decide what they want and like through their senses.

8. A great story doesn't contradict itself

You need to match the image to the message.

9. A great story agrees with our worldviews.

Great stories don't teach new things, they agree with current beliefs.

So there you have it, the nine parts to a great story.

A great story,

1. is true
2. makes a promise
3. is trusted
4. is subtle
5. is fast
6. is NOT aimed at everyone
7. does NOT appeal to logic, but to our senses
8. doesn't contradict itself
9. agrees with our worldviews.

How to Make a good Video on YouTube for a Cheap Amount of Money

Hey Everybody,

A question that gets asked a lot  is, "How to make a good YouTube video?" The answer to that question can vary a lot depending on the type of videos your making. However, there are some key components that remain the same across the board.

Equipment

The two biggest components in making a good video are video and audio. Now don't get me wrong, you DO NOT need a $800 camera, or a $300 dollar microphone to make a good video. What you do need is a camera that shoots decent quality video, and depending on the type of videos your making, you either need a microphone, other than the one on your camera, or clear sounding music to overlay the video. It is nice if you have good lighting, but that's another topic.

Software

Another thing you need is an editing software. There are many free ones out there. My favorites are, Windows Movie maker for a Windows operating system, Kdenlive for  an Ubuntu operating system, and iMovie for a Mac running system. The one I use the most is by far Kdenlive, because it does a lot of things that Windows movie Maker and iMovie can't do.

You might also need an audio editor. I have found that Audacity works best for all running systems. It's easy to use, has a lot of great features like autotune, and it works great.

Content

Now that we have all of the equipment and software that we need, it's time to discuss content. The content in your video needs to be entertaining if it's going to be good. You can't make a very good video by filming a cup on the table.

To make interesting content you need to figure out the audience your trying to reach. A guy looking for video game commentary is not going to be interested in a makeup tutorial. In the same way a girl looking for a makeup tutorial is not going to be interested in a video game commentary.

So after you discover what your interested in making, let's say you chose to make a vlog. When people are watching a vlog they want to watch someone with an interesting personality tell an interesting story. They don't want to listen to a monotone person tell a story about their boring life. Do you see what I'm trying to say?

In the same way if your making short films, you need to tell a good story, not a boring story. When your making short films it's not just about a good story. You could have the greatest story ever, but if you don't execute the shooting and editing part, it could turn into a big blob of bad.

Recap

So for a recap we see that we need a few things to make a good video. We need a good camera, and a good microphone. We need an editing software for video, and sometimes for audio. But most importantly, we need a story that gets people interested.

Challenge

Tell me in the comments if you think this video failed. If it did fail, then tell me how it failed.

Persevering! How to Persevere!

Persevering is a very important when trying to overcome your mistakes.

Word Meaning

Persevering - The present participle of persevere

Verb -

Continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no indication of success.

What It Means to You

There are many times when we have to persevere. Whether it's an athletic event, getting traffic to our blogs, or getting viewers and subscribers for our YouTube Channel's. If I were to list every instance that one might need to persevere, I would be here all day.

For this post I will focus mostly on the times we need to persevere, when were not getting the results that we're looking for, because it is the most common reason for persevering.

It is very difficult to keep making new content when you only have a few

viewers. Many big YouTubers and some bloggers have talked about how their first few years were extremely slow. Most of them talked about their thoughts of quitting, but instead they persevered and became what they are today. You can also be one of these people, but to make it you need to be committed, and persevere. Don't give into defeat.
Many people will put out a large quantity of content. That doesn't cut it, and that doesn't count as persevering. Taking the easy way out is not continuing your course of action in the face of difficulty. To persevere you would have to instead, create a large quantity of quality content, or even just a regular stream of quality content. You need to do the work.
When you're in these lows it's very hard to stay motivated. Before you get to the low, try and pick something to read, listen to, or watch, so when you hit the low you have something to bring yourself back up. It's best if the thing reminds you why you're trying to persevere.

Terrorist Attack (Short Film)

Hey Everybody,

For this post I'm going to explain the story for my Terrorist Attack Short Film.

The Terrorist Attack Short Film is the first long video I've ever done. It took us three days to shoot it. We shot one part each day. It took me about 3 hours to edit each part.

On to the story! Caution there are spoilers!

Terrorist Attack (Short Film) Part 1 (click here for video)

The short film starts when a kid named Kevin is over at his friends house. Kevin's friend notices out of the corner of his eye something through the window. He gets up and sees a bunch of terrorists going up and down the streets, barging in to his neighbors houses. Kevin comes over and also sees whats going on.

Kevin, who is terrified of what might happen, exclaims, "I need to get home!" Kevin and his friend argue for a second, but finally Kevin's friend points him in the right direction through the back. On his way home, Kevin gets into a couple of gunfights against the terrorists. First he steals a gun, then he shoots three more terrorists. He continues on his journey, killing another terrorist with a knife.

When Kevin get's to his home he finds his little brother Brice, hiding. They talk briefly about the journey that Kevin had just faced.

Brice tells Kevin to take a seat, and gives him the bad news that their parents had been murdered by the terrorists. Kevin trying to stay strong for his brother, tells his brother to pack up, because they need to get to hiding. They move out and head towards the deep woods.

Terrorist Attack (Short Film) Part 2 (click here for video)

In part 2 Kevin is walking through the woods on guard duty. When he gets back to camp he finishes the last of their food. Kevin has a meeting with his brother Brice, to let him know that they have to go on a run for food. Kevin tells Brice that they will be heading back to their old house, because the terrorists had made it a base.

They fight their way into the base. When they get in, Kevin sends Brice for the food and takes guard duty at the door. Kevin doesn't notice a terrorist in the stairwell, and is shot. Brice comes running to his brothers rescue, but he's to late. Kevin tells Brice, "Don't give up." Then Kevin breathes his last breath.

When Brice gets back to camp, he destroys it in a mad fury. Throwing everything, including the can that had contained the last of their food supplies.

Terrorist Attack (Short Film) Part 3 (click here for video)

In part 3 Brice after starting to settle down and cope with the loss of his brother, is captured. After being tortured for information, he is left in a quiet room for thought. He manages to break the bonds and starts an amazing fight for freedom.

He kills a total of 4 terrorists, in an attempt to not give up the fight. He manages to grab a set of keys on his way out, and heads for a car. He fights and fights to get the car started. All of the sudden out of nowhere the terrorist leader shoots Brice, from the front of the car, killing Brice immediately.
